Dad update:
Dad made it back to Iowa!!!!!!
Dad’s skin graft surgeries went well, he has had a bit of physical therapy(very self driven & motivated) and some rehabilitation at the acute care facility that he was at in AZ- which he needed to leave by the 25th(with no place to go and still needing a walker, it sucks when your all alone & out of state and a major health collapse happens) due to regulations.
Thankfully they felt that his burns were healed enough, his speech was passable and he had enough mobility to safely endure the bus ride back to Iowa.
We picked him up at 5am yesterday(a couple of unexpected layovers worked in his favor)-and no I didnt sleep until he got here- with homemade pasties in hand(meaty handpies) and was able to get him to Broadlawns and get him some financial help for his burn recovery(We still have to set up a bunch of follow ups and Dr visits, but he is doing alot better)- downside of being self employed, dont work=dont eat- and he is in a facility to help with his care & rehabilitation now.
So for now, Dad is in a safe spot- much safer then he was back in Arizona!
Its going to be a long road to recovery and to getting back on his feet financially….but he is off to a really good start!
But in between all of that, got him to walmart so he could get a warmer coat and boots (its abit chilly out lols) & got him a good haircut & shave. Pictures AFTER said haircut & shave, the before was alittle scary jk lols
When he was weighed (with coat, shoes and a bunch of stuff in his pockets)he is down to 150 lbs- while always trim, he has NEVER been this thin….So I told him its a good thing that he arrived when I tend to go balls to the wall with my crockpot and oven.
Also abit of good news, his ID-Social security card were found and sent to him…so Dads Angels have been working overtime !!!!
