Check your sage bundles!
We at Des Moines New Age Shop always make sure to check our purchased Sage & Smudge bundles for Mold & Black mold (we have been doing this for years, finally remembered to take a pic before tossing it)- our #inhousemade smudge bundles are made with great care and thoroughly checked.
We recently received a batch that had mold(which was thrown out promptly) from a very reputable seller- which means its time to switch sellers AGAIN.
This is a very real health risk, which is why we have switched Sage sellers so often.
Check the sage that you buy online and at shops thoroughly before you burn it.
*Most bundles go unchecked!

When you burn moldy Sage/Herbs/Wood, microscopic mold spores are released from the wood into the air.
These spores can easily create symptoms such as coughing; eye, throat and nose irritation; and sneezing & in severe cases- respiratory infection or distress.
*Those with chronic respiratory conditions such as Asthma & Bronchitis are believed to be more susceptible to these symptoms.
Burning moldy Sage/Herbs/Wood also increases the number of airborne mold spores inside your home,
which in turn increases the likelihood of problematic & unhealthy indoor mold growth.
